Written by parents of a child born with, and diagnosed with Cortical Visual Impairment. The monumental love and unending determination it took to find answers, a diagnosis, and all things necessary to help them, their family, their son on their journey with CVI.
This is an excellent book for parents of children with Cortical Visual Impairment. It is well written and has many helpful resources. It is a wonderful addition to the very small library of books parents can use when their children have this type of visual impairment.
I bought this book after finding Littlebearsees.org and hearing the authors speak at a vision conference. I am a parent of a child newly diagnosed with Cortical Vision Impairment and have found this book to be an excellent resource in many ways. It gives imformation about what a diagnosis of CVI means, their own and several other family's experiences, and specific characteristics of CVI. My favorite chapters give information about 1) specific things a parent can do every day to help their child learn to see and 2) learning to navigate Early Intervention and Special Education.This book is a very useful tool for me on a daily basis and is very easily read. I have borrowed it to nurses and therapists who care for my child and have had great response from them as well.
This book was amazing and has educated us on our grandsons diagnosis of CVI as we wait for services .... we have begun therapy for him due to the awesome information In this book . Thank you for writing such a wonderful book !!!!

I got this book and within 2 days of reading it Julia was rolling over while trying to reach for something. To think that she has never done this because of her vision! WOW! There are so many helpful tips in this book, I want to buy 10 of them to leave with doctors and therapists so that we can all be on the same page while working with our amazing children.
Highly useful and accessible. It's so much more than CVI. I particularly like the stories of the families. I would recommend this book to any special needs parent.
