A helpful book to read, for those planning or about to board an inside passage cruise.It was great to read information on both the ports that we were going to stop at, as well as to read the descriptions of the areas where our cruise ship was traveling through. As those who do inside passage cruises know, there are several "cruising days", where you're at sea, and not stopping.Reading the book's descriptions added value to those portions of the cruise.In particular, the large, pull-out map was a great supplement to the smaller, focused maps in the book sections.And finally, the stories of each port's history were thoroughly entertaining and interesting.
Very entertaining guide, comes with an included tear out large map - our ship "neighbors" used it for a walking tour of Skagway and enjoyed their walk.
This book would be good to buy if you haven't started researching yet for your cruise. I had already done some research online, and I didn't really learn anything new about the ports from this book. Did have a lot of history about Alaska that was interesting.
Excelllent book that gives a detailed report on what to see in most places or ports where your cruise ship will stop. Easy to read and with very detailed maps of most cruise ship itineraries. Great photography, good buying tips.
Great information, photos and insights into cruising Alaska, especially for a beginner like me.
Terrific book and guide. Lots if information about the state, it's topography, sites, animals, and history, as well tour and city information.

Not informational at all. Just generalizations. HUGE disappointment. I was hoping for a book like Rick Steve's on his Mediterrnean Cruise book with so many helpful suggestions and excursions to take. Don't waste your money.
