About the Author
MERCER MAYER began writing and illustrating children's books in 1966, and since then, he has published over 300 titles. When my friend was pregnant, she asked everyone to buy one of their favorite books from when they were young, so that her little one would have a wonderful collection. The Little Critter books were some of my favorites, so I ordered a few for her. She lives far away, so it was really nice to be able to order them and ship them right to her. Shipping was quick and I didn't have to worry about doing it, so that made it even better!
I purchased this book to read to my son I love the Little Critters series, and this one is about Little Critters puppy. These type of books are easy to read and has great colorful pictures. We have three dogs and we plan on teaching him responsibility. This book teaches just that. It talks about how to care for your puppy The whole Little Critters series teaches some kind of thing, and for us, this one is perfect for what we want our son to learn. Teaching a child through a story is the best way to get them to retain the information you want them to remember. After reading it, you can ask them questions pertaining to the story to see if they were paying attention and to also remind them of what occurred. Please also remember that a child has to listen to a story at least 3 times to remember what is being read to them due to their short attention span.I purchased this book at full price for personal enjoyment. No discount was offered.
This is a great book to teach kids about responsibility if they wish to own a pet and how hard it can be to take care of one, but the rewards are truly great. My son loves Little Critter with a passion so when he saw this book he just had to have it. When you take his love for animals and put it with Little Critter it's just a win win situation. Little Critter learns how hard it can be to take care of his new dog or teach him tricks, but loves his adventures with the dog. I think the book is an accurate portrayal of how it will be for any child getting a new pet so I definitely recommend it!
I purchased these stories for my granddaughter, she keeps these in her bed for nighttime - reading time and I was soo happy when I went to visit her and it was my turn to read them to her, Fun illustrations, funny characters and perfect for bonding time.
I was obsessed with these books growing up and I love dogs. I was so happy to find this book for my niece to pass on 2 things I love. I hope she enjoys these books as much as I did. I read the book after it arrived and it fits my memory well.
My almost three year old is obsessed with the Little Critter books. We got this one because she's also obsessed with her "puppy" (he's seven years old so not much of a puppy but he'll always be a puppy to her). It's a cute story and she enjoys reading it.
Wonderful series of books. Have been reading them to my sons & grandchildren for years. Lovely, sweet & learning about life stories!
The Little Critter Books always brings me back to my childhood as I read them to my 3-year-old. We absolutely love books... especially ones with wholesome values and lessons.
