This is quite a work by quite a well educated, articulate individual who lived through Israel's best and worse times. To hear him speak, his Queen's English was superb and so are his writings. Bravo Abba.

Brilliant history of the Jewish people published in 1968. Appears to be thorough and authoritative. Just re-read it in 2018. .

I note that Eban was a very thoughtful and insightful historian

Abba Eban writes a wonderful story of the history of the Jewish people. It is in depth, but a very good and easy read. I bought 4 copies to give to my family so they could learn and enjoy.
